History of English

1. The Germanic, Celtic, Slavic, Latin, and Indian languages were influential in the formation of the English language.
2. Yiddish, Dutch, and Scandinavian.
3. The Norman Invasion of 1066 was a major influence of the English language.

6. It borrows its words from many other languages.
7. Yes, because this isn't a language that has stopped growing, this one language is derived from a multitude of other languages and is still growing.  Many world powers have adapted English as a second language, meaning that this language is well known for many different countries.
